Shawn Whittington

Shawn Whittington Jr is a Senior Instructor at 88 Tactical. He is the program director for the Tactical Medicine and Primal Defense series of classes. Whittington started at 88 Tactical by developing and instructing Basic Pistol, Youth Range shooting, and Tactical Medicine courses. He expanded his role at 88 Tactical to include updating and Instruction of the Primal Defense and Youth Anti-Bully Anti-Abduction curriculum. Through constant improvement and the help of volunteer apprentices those courses have become two of our most successful offerings.  

Whittington has continued to update and expand the Tactical Medicine program which now includes TacMed Basic, TacMed Advanced, Live fire Injured Shooter, and LE TacMed Instructor. Whittington has certified LE Instructors throughout the country and those Instructors have utilized 88 Tactical’s curriculum to jump start or enhance their own tactical medicine training for their front-line Officers.  

 Whittington has over 3 decades of professional experience in EMS/Fire and is currently employed with the Omaha Fire Dept. He has experience working with multiple tactical teams as a Tactical Paramedic. He is a certified Law Enforcement Officer in Nebraska, an LE Firearms Instructor, VCQB Instructor, High Threat CQB Instructor, and an adjunct Instructor at the Omaha Police Depts Training Academy. Whittington is currently assigned as an Investigator in the Omaha Fire Depts Fire Investigation Unit.
